Holyrood Pumper Destroyed In Serious Accident

On Friday, April 11, 2003 the Holyrood Volunteer Fire Department lost it's newest pumper in a serious motor vehicle accident.

The 1999 GMC Topkick pumper, driven by Fire Chief Chris Kieley, was responding to a grass fire, when he accidentally lost control and the vehicle toppled. The pumper rolled  at least twice with the Fire Chief remaining at the wheel; calm and unafraid.

Chief Kieley was immediately transported to hospital where he was later released after have been treated for minor injuries.

Today Chief Chris Kieley considers himself lucky to be alive, as the out-of-control pumper narrowly missed a bridge that would have inflicted much more serious injuries and possibly death.

The Town of Holyrood wishes Chief Chris Kieley a fast and full recovery and looks forward to having him back at the fire hall.
